What is MuEps?

MuEps is short for mu and epsilon two letters from the greek alphabet. These letters are symbols for the electromagnetic properties of any material. Epsilon is a complex number () consisting of a real and imaginary part and describes the permittivity of a material. The real part of epsilon () describes the ability of a material to store an electric charge and is also known as the dielectric constant of a material. The imaginary part of epsilon () describes the dissipative properties of the material. The loss tangent of a material () is the ratio of the real and imaginary components of permittivity (). Mu is also a complex number () which is called the permeability of the material. It is analogous to the permittivity except that it describes how a material interacts with the magnetic vector of an electromagnetic wave.

Who is MuEps?

MuEps Software is a company that provides software for the measurement, analysis, and prediction of material properties based upon the permittivity and permeability of those materials. To understand how a material interacts with electromagnetic energy, measurements of that interaction must be made. VBMUE and VBEPS will take measured data and calculate the permittivity and permeability of the material. VBROP will use these material properties to optimize the reflection and transmission properties of stacks of material layers.
